1. JUDAY HID P1.6-M MORE, SAYS BIR
The BIR disclosed that actress Judy Ann Santos hid some P1.6-M pesos more of her income in 2002. Atty. Doris Gamboa said the BIR discovered a contract from Century Canning Corp., where Santos earned P1.5-M and another from Regal Entertainment Inc., where she earned P100,000.00. The BIR said the actress did not declare this in her income in 2002 where she said she earned only P8-M from ABS-CBN. Santos' lawyer, Atty. Bonifacio Alentajan maintains the actress had already paid P2.8-M in withholding tax. He said this is P1-M more than the P1.7-M in tax liability that the BIR was after.

2. ARMM ELEX HAS NO LEGAL IMPEDIMENTS- SC
The Supreme Court has not acted on petitions for the issuance of TRO against the ARMM elections on August 8 effectively clearing the way for the conduct of the elections. SC Spokesperson Ismael Khan said the next en banc session of the court will be on August 9, a day after the elections thereby making any issuances against it 'moot.' "You can say that it faces no legal impediments," said Khan. Congressmen Mujib Jataman (?) and Gerry Salapudin have filed separate petitions against the ARMM elections.
